Recipe: Cold brew iced latte
Mar 16, 2023
If you're looking for a refreshing and energizing spring drink, a cold brew iced latte is the perfect choice. This delicious beverage is made with cold-brewed coffee, milk, and sweetener (optional), and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. Here's a simple recipe for making a cold brew iced latte at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup milk (whole milk, almond milk, or any milk of your choice)
- 1-2 tablespoons sweetener (such as honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
-
Combine the coarsely ground coffee beans and cold water in a large jar or pitcher. Stir well to make sure all the coffee grounds are wet. (we love lighter roasts for cold brew)
-
Cover the jar or pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap, and place it in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, or overnight. This will allow the coffee to steep and develop a rich, smooth flavor. (feel free to double this recipe to share with friends)
-
Once the coffee has steeped, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the coffee grounds. You should be left with a smooth, concentrated coffee liquid. *(Pro Tip: you can also make this in a French press or cold brew maker and when the coffee is done steeping, simply press the French press filter down and pour cold brew into a fresh canister)
-
To make the latte, fill a glass with ice cubes. Add 1/2 cup of the cold-brewed coffee to the glass, followed by 1/2 cup of milk. Stir well.
-
*optional: Add your desired amount of sweetener, and stir again to combine.
-
Taste the latte and adjust the sweetness and milk-to-coffee ratio to suit your taste.
-
Serve the cold brew iced latte immediately, garnished with a sprig of mint or a dusting of cocoa powder for some fun extra flavor and flair.
Enjoy your delicious and refreshing cold brew iced latte, and feel free to experiment with different flavors and variations to find your perfect summer drink!
